COOL MOVES – Contemporary Dancemaking Labs
Open to all ages
Thursdays May 16- June 20
A Six-Week Workshop Series, Movimento Project
COOL MOVES will offer the chance for people interested in dance as art to explore together their own body movement and its potential for making unique and relevant dance. This series is open to all people interested in movement art, dance and dancemaking. Contemporary dance is an inclusive & celebratory medium, focusing the choreographic eye to movement of all types of bodies, in new spaces, with new thematic goals, soundtracks, etc. The workshop series will be facilitated by Leda Muhana & Dave Iannitelli, who bring more than 50 years combined experience in coaching, motivating and fine-tuning contemporary dancemaking. Participants will be guided through individual and collective processes of body & movement focus, exploration, and creative appreciation in the structuring of innovative dance art. Individual levels of experience will provide the base for each participant’s exploration, offering paths ahead for interested beginner to advanced artists. The atmosphere will be one of positivity, creativity, diversity & celebration of each participant’s body, movement, and artistic potential. The program will end with a demonstration of participants’ artistic processes and results.
