Summer 2025 Theatre Camp Ages 3.5-13

 

Session one: Under the Sea, June 23 - July 11 (3 weeks) No class 7/4

Pre-School Theatre Camp, Ages 3.5-6
Monday - Friday 9:30- 12:30
Location: Arts Center
Tuition: $750
Fun is the goal. A delightful class to encourage the youngest children to explore through guided play and the use of the imagination. Children learn to value self-expression, work together, and use their imaginations, bodies, and voices while traveling inside favorite stories from under the sea! The first part of the morning will focus on story exploring and creative movement and the second half will be creating crafts and props for our stories.

Full Day Theatre Camp, Ages 7-9 
Monday - Friday 9:30-3:30
Location: Arts Center
Tuition $1,325
All day theatre arts program. In this 3-week camp you will engage in a full theatrical process. Build confidence as you work with your ensemble on different aspects of a production: theatre games, and character development with Creative Drama; singing and choreography with Broadway Kids; and creating props with Technical Theatre. Each day students will have the opportunity to perform for their peers. Each 3-week camp is unique!

Full Day Theatre Camp, Ages 10-13

Half Day Theatre Camp, Ages 7-9

This class is filled with creative drama, movement and musical theatre.  Children experience developmentally appropriate theatre games and dramatizations of stories that build skills, spark imagination, nurture creativity, and inspire empathy. The class also focuses on enhancing students’ communication skills and self-confidence.

The Lion King Jr. (mini), Ages 5-8 
2 Weeks

Explore the world of The Lion King Jr! In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn and perform a selection of scenes from the beloved Disney musical, The Lion King Jr. The first week class will meet at the Arts Center and the second at the Theatre. There will be a final presentation Friday August 15 at 11:45.

The Lion King, Jr. Ages, 8- 14

Let’s put on a play: The Lion King Jr! In this performance class, students will experience the entire production process, from auditions through performance, as they work on and perform the beloved Disney musical, The Lion King Jr. The first two weeks will be held at the Arts Center and the last week we will move to the theatre. There will be two performances: Friday, 8/22 at 2 pm and Saturday, 8/23 at 10 am.

 

2025 Teen Programming

Teen Acting & Improv

This class will focus on fun improvisation, scene work, and introductory directing tactics. Young artists will gain skills in communication, observation, and motivation, along with physical and vocal training. Students will learn to work as an ensemble to tell important stories, convey meaning and emotion in their scene work exploration, and communicate with others in a creative, playful setting.

Tech Theatre Workshop

A hands-on workshop. Students work on specific projects based on their skill-level and age. In this workshop, students participate in set construction, scenic painting, lighting, props, and other technical aspects of our main stage productions. Wear your paint clothes!

Broadway Teens

Tuition $180
Sing, dance, and act in songs and scenes from favorite Broadway Musicals. Develop vocal technique, learn dance moves and combinations, and establish a variety of characters. A fun class to help you become a more skilled, versatile performer!

Junior Players
Mon-Fri

Tuition: $1,200
Junior Players is CCTC/HJT’s flagship teen program. This 6-week intensive program offers the opportunity not only to train as a young actor, but also to rehearse, perform, and tour a show.  The 2025 Junior Players will train in residence at the Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre in July, and tour to young audiences in August. The classroom portion of class runs June 30- August 1st Mon-Fri 3-5pm. The performance tour is August 4-8 in the mornings, with a final performance Sunday, August 10 at the theatre.

All day theatre arts program. In this 2-week theatre camp immersion you will get to climb all the branches of theatre tree. The mornings are filled with creative drama and movement. The afternoons offer specialized programming in musical theatre, technical theatre, clowning and much more. Each 2-week camp is unique! This class will have a final demonstration on the last day at 12PM at the Theatre 105 Division Street, West Harwich.

Full Day Theatre Camp

Final Friday class of each session ends at 12:30

All day theatre arts program. In this 2-week camp you will engage in a full theatrical process culminating with a showcase at the Theatre. Build confidence as you work with your ensemble on different aspects of a production. Learn core acting skills and character development through theatre games and creative drama. Explore singing and choreography through Broadway Kids. Technical Theatre and Clowning round out this immersive 360-degree theatrical experience. Each 2-week camp is unique! This class will have a final demonstration on the last day at 12PM at the Theatre 105 Division St, West Harwich.

Half Day Theatre Camp

Let’s Put on a Play: The Stinky Cheese Man

Ages 6-13
Monday – Friday

August 12-23
Location: Theatre

Come put on a play with us! The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales deconstructs the tradition of the fairy tale. Characters slide in and out of tales, Cinderella rebuffs Rumpelstiltskin, and Goldilocks meets the Three Elephants. Nothing is quite the same as you remember it, and the resulting comedy is outrageously fun! The Stinky cheese man is so stinky that no one wants to run, run, run after him, much less eat him. Be prepared to work all aspects of this show from acting to scenic painting, costumes and props. Final demonstration 8/23 at 2 PM

Playwriting

This class provides an opportunity for up-and-coming playwrights to identify what they love about storytelling. They will create clear narratives with a beginning, middle, and end; read and discuss plays that challenge classic structure and form; and learn to use that in their work. Students will have a Staged Reading of their new work on the last day for friends and family.

Broadway Teens

Sing, dance, and act in songs and scenes from Broadway Musicals from a variety of genres! Develop vocal technique and learn dance techniques and combinations. Develop versatility while establishing a character. This class will have a final demonstration on the last day at 12:30PM at the Theatre 105 Division St, West Harwich

Technical Theatre Workshop

Part training, part playground: come experience our rigorous actor-training class for teens in a safe, welcoming, fun environment. We’ll dive into acting exercises, ensemble-building, improvisation, and text to hone our chops as actors.
Bring clothes to move in, a water bottle, and a sense of play!

Junior Players

Junior Players is CCTC/HJT’s flagship teen program. This 6-week intensive program offers the opportunity not only to train as a young actor, but also to rehearse, perform, and tour a show, and to learn hands-on by participating in our other theatre programming including Jestering and Tech opportunities. Participant actors will work as an ensemble to hone their acting chops and gain experience with mask work, storytelling, and story adaptation for the stage. The 2024 Junior Players will train in residence at the Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre in July, and tour short stories in rep to young audiences and community groups in August. Our tuition price is generously subsidized through our education partners. Tour Dates will be booked between August 1-16 with morning and afternoon performances.
