Spring Classes

Improv Building Blocks
Saturday May 17

Discover what it means to be both an improvisor within scenes and a composer of story as a troupe! In this class we will take the fundamental steps towards long-form improv comedy, where the structures of games like Freeze, Paint A Room, and Stage Directions will lead us into more free-form possibilities! No experience necessary but a sense of play is a must!

Creative Drama 1

Step into a world of wonder and imagination in our Creative Drama One class! Through guided play and imaginative exploration, children will discover the joys of self-expression and storytelling. Children learn to value self-expression through rhythm, games to develop coordination, sequencing exercises, pantomime, visual art, storybooks, songs, and dances. Class will end with a final demonstration. Great add-on to Sing, Sing, Sing class.

Creative Drama 2
Grades 2-4

This class begins the exciting journey of the budding actor. Children experience developmentally appropriate theatre games and dramatizations of stories that build skills, spark imagination, nurture creativity, and inspire empathy. The class also focuses on enhancing students’ communication skills and self-confidence. Young people are encouraged to repeat Creative Drama workshops within their age range, as each class increases understanding while using new material. Class will end with a final demonstration. This is a great add on to Broadway Kids Junior for a full theatrical immersion.

Creative Drama 3

This class enhances theatre skills through carefully crafted exercises and dramatizing stories and short plays. Students focus on character development using improvisation and script work to develop their craft. Actors are encouraged to repeat their participation in Creative Drama workshops within their age range as each class deepens understanding while introducing new material. Class will end with a final demonstration. This is a great add on to Broadway Kids for a full theatrical immersion!

Sing, Sing, Sing!

Get ready to raise your voice and let your inner star shine in Sing Sing Sing! This class is all about having a blast while mastering the art of singing. Dive into the world of music and creative expression through movement, dramatic play, and, of course, plenty of song. Join us for a harmonious journey of fun and learning that will have you singing your heart out in no time! Class will end with a final demonstration. Great add on to Creative Drama 1.

Broadway Kids Junior (Performance Class)

You learn range, diction, pitch, and more to help you sing with expression and confidence. Discover how to move to the beat and the words to bring the song alive.

Singing for the Stage

Learn basic vocal technique and essential music skills in a fun and supportive environment! Each week we will develop our music abilities and learn more about how to use our voices. Participants will work as a group and learn and perform solos and receive instructor and peer feedback several times during the course. This is a great environment to workshop and prepare for upcoming auditions! This class will end with a final demonstration.

Comedy Improv for Adults
Ages 18 and up

In this Intermediate comedy improv class for adults, students will continue to build upon the foundational skills learned in the beginner class. Through a series of interactive exercises and games, participants will further develop their improvisational techniques, including character development, scene work, and quick thinking. Students will also explore more advanced comedic concepts, such as callbacks, running gags, and physical comedy. The class will focus on building ensemble skills and fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Whether you’re a seasoned performer looking to hone your skills or a newcomer eager to dive deeper into the world of improv, this class offers a fun and challenging opportunity to grow as a comedic improviser. Get ready to laugh, play, and take your improv to the next level!

This beginner class focuses on the fundamentals of Tap. Students put beginning technique to work, learning new steps, rhythms, patterns and combinations. It also focuses on the development of coordination, concentration, listening skills and develops confidence in form and technique.

Tap 4 (Performance Class)

This class continues to focus on the fundamentals of Tap. Students put beginning technique to work, learning new steps, rhythms, patterns and combinations. It also focuses on the development of coordination, concentration, listening skills, and self-confidence. The class schedule is offered in a three-season commitment, fall classes focus on building technique and the winter and spring will be rehearsing choreography for the Spring recital.

Tap & Jazz Adult/Teen, Intermediate
Ages 18- 118

5:15-6:45

Instructor: Terry Norgeot
2-3 years of prior tap experience. Includes an introduction to proper barre warm-ups and stretches for the body, combined with across the floor progressions and mini combinations. The class will concentrate on building confidence through mastering more difficult patterns and steps.

The Wicked Popular Class

Welcome to the Wicked Popular Class! Spend a week in the wonderful world of munchkins, witches and music! Students will explore the world of Oz through scene work, art, songs, and choreography! Wizards, witches and humans alike will delight in this exciting journey and fun exploration of the good and the “Wicked”.

The World of Mo Willems

Welcome to the Mo Willems themed drama class, where young actors can dive into a world of imagination and creativity! In this class, kids will have the chance to play a variety of fun games, songs, and crafts all inspired by the lovable characters and stories of Mo Willems. Have fun with characters like Elephant & Piggie, the Pigeon, and Knuffle Bunny! Join us for a playful and interactive journey where laughter, creativity, and fun await at every turn.
