The energy at HJT isn’t just generated on its stage. Thanks to a project headed by Cotuit Solar, HJT soon will be generating up to 85% of its annual power – with some help from the sun. This summer, Cotuit Solar installed a 23.5kW photovoltaic (PV) array on south-facing roof of the historic theater building on Division Street, and upgraded the electrical panel to handle future enhancements in the theater’s lighting, sound, and other systems. The solar project was completed by Cotuit Solar at no charge. Once we flip the switch later this month, HJT will be doing its part to help the environment – and saving money – by powering the theater building with renewable energy.
