CCTC Celebrates National Poetry Month with a Reprise of The Belle of Amherst

Limited Engagement! Tuesday – Thursday, April 26 – 28 at 7:00pm

Jane Staab – most recently seen on our stage as Fagin in Oliver! – revives her critically acclaimed role as Emily Dickinson in The Belle of Amherst for a limited run before heading to Boston to perform again at the Wheelock Family Theatre.

The Belle of Amherst is a delightful portrayal of nineteenth-century American poet, Emily Dickinson. Staab skillfully interprets the powerful script by William Luce that intertwines the beautiful words of Emily’s letters and poems to tell the story of her intriguing, reclusive life.

Take a step back in time as “Emily” invites you into her living room for a glorious visit. Gain a rare glimpse into her world as she grapples with her unsuccessful attempt at fame; revels in her “joy in living” and her belief that nature is the highest art; and reveals many of the secrets of her childhood, her family, and her innermost thoughts.

This whimsical one-woman show will entrance you from beginning to end.

Tickets are $20 adult and $15 under 21. Use Code CCTCEmily for a $5 discount. Tickets
